We’re still reeling from the excitement of the C4R25 Conference! From September 8 to 10, we gathered scientific rigor experts and enthusiasts in Philadelphia, for a deep dive into what it means to do reliable and transparent research. It was refreshing and encouraging to see such a diverse group of people thoroughly engaged at all times, participating actively in our workshops, asking questions, providing feedback and even challenging ideas, and connecting with new people.
Shout out to the students who came from local universities, from outside of Philly, and even out of state! C4R is not building this community from scratch— optimists committed to improving the quality of science are everywhere. We’re just bringing them together.
Thanks also to the professors, librarians, reproducibility and open science advocates, scientific integrity and preregistration experts, publishers, and lab staff who joined us. You help us center and elevate the conversation about rigor and your feedback allows us to continue refining and improving our educational materials.
To the speakers and presenters who lent their perspective and expertise to an attentive and inquisitive audience, we’re grateful for your energy, for your engaging talks and presentations, and for your participation in the workshops and interactive sessions that followed. Thank you for taking extra time from your busy schedules to embrace our content, dig into it, and provide your honest feedback.
To those who couldn’t join us, we hope you can make it in the future. We’re serious about rigor and fun to be around -yes, both things can happen simultaneously! Some of the sessions were recorded and are now live on our YouTube channel, including presentations of our scientific rigor curriculum units and guest speakers’ talks.
