Zac applies his training in community-based and participatory action research to lead user research as community engagement lead at C4R. He is a part-time PhD candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also earned his masters in communication, and holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and rhetoric studies from Whitman College. During the whirlwind ride that was 2020, Zac pivoted away from his existing graduate work to study how communities heal and rebuild in the wake of violence. From there, he has worked on internet safety research and community safety and policy for Discord. Zac lives in Philadelphia with four cats. Which is certainly too many cats, but he wouldn’t trade any of ‘em for all the catnip in the world.
